Bulgarian citizen Erhan Mehmedov has been jailed for life for stabbing his girlfriend to death on a Sheffield street in February.
Dimitrina Borisova, also a Bulgarian national, who lived in Hillsborough, was killed outside a row of shops on Blackstock Road on 21 February.
The 46-year-old mother-of-three was stabbed more than 10 times in her chest and neck, the BBC reminds.
Mehmedov, 45, of Blackstock Road, was found guilty of murder by a jury at Sheffield Crown Court on Monday and sentenced to a minimum of 28 years.
Borisova had ended her relationship with Mehmedov shortly before the attack, according to police authorities.
According to Yorkshire Post, Mehmedov served 10 years in prison in his native Bulgaria when he knifed a man during a drunken bar brawl and just a month later raped a 14-year-old girl.
