A proposed settlement has been reached in a sexual harassment lawsuit filed against San Diego and embattled Democratic Mayor Bob Filner, local media are reporting, and an aide to one San Diego elected official has shared video that she says shows Filner leaving City Hall on Wednesday with boxes.
In recent weeks, a growing number of elected officials, including U.S. Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., have called on Filner to resign in the wake of 17 women stepping forward to say he made improper sexual advances toward them.
Two news organizations reported they got word of the proposed resolution from San Diego city attorney Jan Goldsmith, but Goldsmith did not respond to an e-mail seeking confirmation sent late last night.
The San Diego City Council will vote on the proposed resolution Friday in a closed session, KGTV reports.
Goldsmith told the San Diego Union-Tribune that the process "requires that we maintain confidentiality of the proposal." Most council members have not yet seen the proposal, the Union-Tribune reports.
One Twitter user, Diana Palacios, deputy chief of staff to San Diego Councilman Scott Sherman, shared her video with USA TODAY that she says shows Filner leaving San Diego City Hall with boxes in tow.
